Privacy policy
Last updated 5 November 2026.
PTE Junction is a PTE preparation service run from Sydney, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with (including services outside Australia), how long we keep it, and how you can see, correct or delete it. We aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Details you give us: your name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, country, target score, exam date, PTE scores and messages, when you request a PTE X-Ray, send an enquiry, create an account, register for a live class, download a mock-test score card, report a problem with a question or ask for a Trainer Review.
- Your account: your email, the name and phone you signed up with, and when you signed up and last signed in. Sign-in uses one-time email links and codes, so we never store a password.
- Your practice progress: answers, estimated scores, mock test results, study plan, vocabulary and mistake notebook. Without an account this stays only in your own browser. With an account it is saved to your private account so it syncs across your devices.
- Speaking recordings: if you are signed in, your speaking practice takes are saved privately to your account (see “How long we keep it”). If you are not signed in, they stay in your browser.
- Things you choose to share: comments on questions, a leaderboard entry, a speaking answer shared with other students, or your real PTE results next to our estimate. Each is optional.
- Anonymous visit statistics: Vercel Web Analytics counts page visits without cookies, and we record a few steps (such as finishing a mock test) with a random per-tab code, the page and where the visit came from. These never include your name, email or phone number.
- Checking your email address: when you type an email into a form, we check that the part after the @ (for example gmail.com) can receive email by asking Google Public DNS. Only that part is sent, never your full address.
- How you found us: when you send a form or create an account, we also save the name of the site or link that first brought you here and the most recent one (for example ChatGPT, Google, a Facebook ad or one of our posts) and the page you landed on, so we know which advertising works. We never save the full address you came from. If your browser asks sites not to track you, this isn’t saved.
- AI scoring limits: to apply the daily limits on AI scores we count how many you’ve used, by account, or for visitors by a code made from the IP address that changes every day (we don’t store the IP address itself).
- Ad measurement, only if you agree: see “Facebook and Instagram ads” and “Google Analytics” below.
You can practise without giving us any personal details. We only learn who you are if you choose to fill in a form or sign in.
How we use it
To prepare your X-Ray and score card, reply to you, provide practice, live classes and coaching, manage passes, and keep the site working and secure. Only if you ticked “Send me PTE tips and offers” do we send you a short series of PTE tips and offers by email and WhatsApp. That box is optional and unticked. Every email has an unsubscribe link, on WhatsApp you can reply STOP, or just tell us to stop.
If you create an account, the PTE Junction trainer can see your name, contact details, when you signed up and last signed in, the practice you’ve done (task types, number of answers, estimated scores, mock tests), how many AI scores you’ve used and your pass dates. He uses this, in an owner-only page and a daily summary emailed to him, to see who may need help, to manage passes and to remind you before a pass ends. If you gave a phone number, he may send you a short WhatsApp message to check how your preparation is going; reply STOP and he won’t message again. This does not add you to any email list.
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for their marketing.
AI scoring
Speaking and writing answers can be marked automatically. These are estimated practice scores, not official Pearson scores, and they don’t predict your real result. Essays, emails and summaries you send for AI marking go to Anthropic (Claude) to be scored; we don’t store your writing, only the score in your practice progress. Speaking answers are scored with Microsoft Azure speech services and, in Chrome, your browser’s speech recognition. Questions you ask the study assistant (/ask) are answered by Claude, normally through Amazon Bedrock in Australia, or directly through Anthropic if that service is unavailable. Please don’t type personal details into the assistant.
Who receives your information, and where
We use these services to run the site. Some of them store or process information outside Australia; where we can’t confirm the country, we say it may be outside Australia. Each service handles the information to provide its service to us, under its own privacy terms.
| Service | What it receives | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, synced practice progress, form submissions, saved speaking recordings, comments and shared answers | Sydney, Australia |
| Vercel | Hosts the website and our server functions, so it handles every page request (including your IP address) and passes recordings and answers to the scoring services below; also counts page visits without cookies (Vercel Web Analytics) | May be outside Australia |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Essays, emails and summaries you send for AI marking, with the question. Study-assistant questions only when Amazon Bedrock is unavailable | May be outside Australia |
| Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock) | Questions you ask the study assistant (/ask) and the study notes used to answer them | Australia |
| Microsoft Azure (speech services) | Your speaking recording and the question text, for pronunciation and fluency scoring; question text for read-aloud voices | The region set in our Azure account; may be outside Australia |
| In Chrome, the browser’s own speech recognition sends your speaking audio to Google. When you type an email into a form, only the part after the @ is checked with Google Public DNS. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (your browser’s IP address). Our team inbox is a Gmail account, so form copies and our own summaries are stored there | May be outside Australia | |
| LanguageTool | Written answers you check, for grammar and spelling (sent straight from your browser) | May be outside Australia |
| Resend | Sign-in emails, PTE tips and offers (only if you ticked the box), and the trainer’s daily summary of student activity | May be outside Australia |
| Web3Forms | A copy of each form you send (name, email, phone and your answers), emailed to our team inbox | May be outside Australia |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Only if you click “Accept”: your visit and a few steps (see below), with Meta’s own cookies | May be outside Australia |
| Google Analytics | Only if you click “Accept”: your visit and a few steps (see below), with Google’s own cookies | May be outside Australia |
| Stripe | Not used at the moment: online card payments are switched off. If we turn them on later, Stripe would receive your payment details and we will update this page first | May be outside Australia |
If you join a live class on Zoom, or message us on WhatsApp or Telegram, those services handle your information under their own terms, and may be outside Australia.
Payments
At the moment we take payments by PayID (bank transfer) only. You book on WhatsApp, pay by PayID, and the trainer switches your pass on. We keep a record of your name, what you bought, the amount and the date. Online card payments are switched off; if we turn them on, they would be processed by Stripe, we would never see your card details, and we will update this policy first.
Facebook and Instagram ads
If you click “Accept” on our cookie message, we use the Meta Pixel. It lets Meta (Facebook and Instagram) tell us how many people came from our ads and took a step such as signing up, starting a mock test, requesting a PTE X-Ray, tapping WhatsApp, viewing prices or paying, and lets us show our ads to people who visited. Meta receives your visit and those steps with its own cookies; for a payment it also receives the amount in AUD. We never send your name, email, phone number, scores or visa details, and it never runs on your account or members pages; on payment pages it only records that a payment was made and its amount. If you choose “No thanks”, or your browser asks sites not to track you, it isn’t used at all.
Google Analytics
If you click “Accept” on our cookie message, we also use Google Analytics (the Google tag). It tells us how many people visit and which pages they view, and counts steps such as signing up, starting a mock test, requesting a PTE X-Ray, tapping WhatsApp, viewing prices or paying. Google receives your visit and those steps with its own cookies, and may process them outside Australia; for a payment it also receives the amount in AUD. We never send your name, email, phone number, scores or visa details. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so we don’t use it to show you ads based on your visit. It never runs on your account or members pages; on payment pages it only records that a payment was made and its amount. If you choose “No thanks”, or your browser asks sites not to track you, it isn’t used at all. The same choice below covers Meta and Google.
Sharing speaking answers
Sharing is off by default. Only if you tick “Share this answer with other students” on a take can other signed-in students on that question play it, together with your display name (first name and last initial), the date and its estimated practice score, never your email. You can stop sharing or delete the take at any time. Students can report a shared answer, and our trainers can hide any shared answer. Only you and our trainers can play your recordings unless you share one. A recording you send for Trainer Review is kept privately for the trainer.
How we protect it
- The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS.
- Accounts, progress, recordings and form submissions are stored with Supabase in its Sydney (Australia) region. Row-level security means a signed-in student can read only their own data; form submissions can be read only by PTE Junction staff.
- Recordings are kept in private storage and played back through links that expire after an hour.
- Keys for the services above are kept in our hosting settings, never in the website’s code.
How long we keep it

| Comments, leaderboard entries and real PTE results you shared | Until you delete them, or 24 months after you last sign in |
| Trainer Review requests, recordings and feedback | 12 months after the feedback is sent |

When a period ends we delete the information or remove anything that identifies you.
See, correct or delete your information
- Delete it yourself: signed-in students can use “Delete my PTE Junction data” at the bottom of My dashboard (also in the profile menu). It deletes your synced progress, recordings, shared answers, comments, leaderboard entries, shared real results and profile details straight away, clears this browser and signs you out. It also sends us a request to remove your form entries and, if you want, your login email, which is shared with another app run by the same owner and so isn’t deleted automatically.
- Ask us: to see, correct or delete your information, or for anything the button doesn’t cover, email ptejunction.sydney@gmail.com or WhatsApp 0405 709 389. We may ask you to confirm it’s you (for example by replying from the email we have for you). We aim to reply within 30 days.
- On your device: without an account, your progress is only in your browser; clearing the site’s data removes it. Signing out of an account also clears your synced progress from that device.
We keep payment records for tax, and your email on our unsubscribe list if you unsubscribed, so we never email you again.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at ptejunction.sydney@gmail.com or WhatsApp 0405 709 389. Tell us what happened and how you’d like it fixed. We aim to reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when what we collect or the services we use change, and change the date at the top.
